Vitamin A: Retinol in njegovi derivati
- Kaj je: Najbolj proučevana oblika retionoida (derivati vitamina A), ki se mora v koži 2x encimsko pretvorit do aktivne oblike (retinol -> retinaldehid -> retinojska kislina).
- Učinki: Zlati standard v anti-age kozmetiki, saj stimulira sintezo kolagena, zmanjšuje videz drobnih linij in gub. S pospeševanjem obnavljanja celic pomaga pri eksfoliaciji kože in tako izboljšuje njeno teksturo in tonus. Prav tako je odličen pri tretiranju fotopoškodb in pri posvetljevanju kože. Retinol pa poleg svojih anti-age lastnostih učinkuje tudi proti aknam, saj lahko zmanjša videz por in uravnava proizvodnjo sebuma.

BAKUCHIOL - “rastlinski retinol”
- Kaj je: Fitokemična spojina, ki se jo pridobiva iz listov in semen rastline Psoralea corylifolia. Bakuchiol je že stoletja naravni vir, ki se uporablja v tradicionalni kitajski in indijski medicini. Je funkcionalni analog topikalnih retinoidov, saj sta obe spojini pokazali podobno vplivanje na izražanje genov v koži ter vodita k izboljšanju kožnih poškodb zaradi staranja.

- Učinki: Ima močan potencial kot antioksidant z impresivno sposobnostjo odstranjevanja reaktivnih kisikovih spojin (ROS). Torej kot že omenjeno, ima podobne funkcionalne lastnosti kot topikalni retinoidi, ki se pogosto uporabljajo za zdravljenje aken, postinflamatorne hiperpigmentacije in gub. Protivnetne in antiproliferativne (zaviranje nenadzorovane delitve celic) lastnosti bakuchiola lahko prav tako prispevajo k izboljšanju luskavice in kožnega raka, vendar so potrebni dodatni klinični dokazi, da bi se ti učinki dodatno pojasnili. - Kaj je: Nikotinski kislina (pogosto znana kot niacin) in niacinamid (znan tudi kot nikotinamid) se v organizmu lahko pretvarjata druga v drugo obliko. Skupni izraz za oba je vitamin B3. Vsestranska aktivna učinkovina prinaša številne koristi za kožo in je primerna za vsakogar.
- Učinki: Krepi kožno bariero s spodbujanjem proizvodnje ceramidov (lipidi, ki tvorijo glavnino zunanje plasti kože) in proteinov (npr. keratin - ključni protein kože, las in nohtov), kar se kaže v zmanjšanju transepidermalne izgube vode ter izboljšanju vsebnosti vode roženi plasti. Prav tako ima pozitivne učinke pri tretiranju hiperpigmentacij in pri posvetljevanju kože. Njegova sposobnost izboljšanja elastičnosti kože, ga prav tako uvršča med anti-age sestavine. Pri starajoči se koži, topikalna uporaba niacinamida izboljšuje površino kože in gladi gube. Uravnava prekomerno izločanje sebuma ter s tem izboljšuje videz mastne kože. - Kaj je: Pantenol je analog pantotenske kisline (vitamina B5) in je priljubljena učinkovina v kozmetičnih izdelkih zaradi svojih vlažilnih in pomirjujočih lastnosti.
- Učinki: Pomemben je za normalno delovanje kožne bariere, saj pospeši njen proces obnove. Ker v koži aktivira fibroblaste (celice, odgovorne za sintezo kolagena), pripomore pri negi poškodovane in vnete kože, prav tako pa pomaga ohranjati njeno elastičnost in prožnost. Prispeva tudi k zmanjšanju transepidermalne izgube vode in s tem povečuje navlaženost kože.
